Delivered brand new to Braniff Airlines on June 10, 1935, the aircraft was registered NC14937. The Lockheed Electra became the backbone of the airline. It was later sold to Boston-Maine Airways.

1950s

N4846V

Sometime in the 1950s, the aircraft was sold to Capitol Air Service, which operated out of Manhattan, KS. After flying for this company for roughly five to ten years, the Electra was sold in 1964 to Skyway Aviation in Missouri.

1965-1973

N38BB

In 1965, the aircraft was purchased by Provincetown-Boston Airline, which eventually became Naples Airlines & Provincetown-Boston Airline; the Electra was registered as N38BB. The airline flew its four Lockheed Electras until 1973, making them the last U.S. airline to fly the Electra. N38BB then entered into private hands.

Present

California

The Electra is privately owned and is stored out in California. Our team discovered the aircraft in late 2021 and made it our mission to get it flying. (We do NOT have a contract with the aircraft's owner and are an independent organization!) The aircraft will need to be purchased and restored; following the restoration, our goal is to turn the aircraft into an interactive educational traveling exhibit. Currently, this is the only Lockheed Electra 10 in the United States that is not in a museum and, therefore, can be made airworthy.
